Set up
Get selling in 3 steps
- 1
Install the app
Download the installer for the till's computer and run it.
- 2
Register the till
Sign in once with a Cyrenes account that has the “Desktop Devices” permission. The till joins your business and gets its own code, like T01, so every sale shows where it was rung up.
- 3
Cashiers sign in and sell
Each cashier signs in, then switches with their 4-digit PIN. If the internet drops, the till keeps selling and syncs everything later.
Sales made offline sync automatically when the till is back online, and each one is recorded exactly once.

At the counter
A till that doesn't wait for the internet
Sell with no internet
Take cash, card or mobile money with the reference from the terminal or the customer's message, or put the sale on credit to a named customer.
Cashier PINs, offline too
Cashiers sign in with their password, then switch with a 4-digit PIN, with or without a connection, so every sale has a name on it.
Syncs on its own
When the connection comes back, the till sends its sales to Cyrenes automatically, and each sale is recorded exactly once.
Print receipts
Print a receipt for every sale on any printer the computer can use, and scan barcodes with a keyboard-style scanner.
Encrypted on the till
Everything the till keeps on the computer is encrypted, not left in plain files.
See every till from the office
The business owner can see each till's connection status, and an admin can revoke a till at any time.
FAQ
Questions, answered
How long can the till stay offline?
Selling doesn't depend on the internet at all. Cashier sign-in works offline for up to 7 days since the last online sign-in (the default). Connect the till now and then so sales sync and sign-ins stay fresh.
How do updates work?
Updates install automatically when the app restarts, so an update never interrupts a sale in progress.
Is the data on the till safe?
Yes. Everything the till keeps locally is encrypted, and cashiers need their own password or PIN to sell.
What if the computer is lost or stolen?
An admin revokes the till from Cyrenes, so it can no longer sync with your business. Its local data stays encrypted, and the sales it already synced are safe in your books.
Do I need a Cyrenes account?
Yes. The till belongs to a Cyrenes business, and someone with the “Desktop Devices” permission registers it once. Cashiers then sign in with their own accounts.
Which printers and scanners work?
Receipts print through the computer's normal print dialog, so any printer it can use will do. Barcode scanners that type like a keyboard work out of the box.
How do I check the download?
Compare the SHA-256 checksum shown on this page. On Windows run “certutil -hashfile <file> SHA256” in a terminal; on a Mac run “shasum -a 256 <file>”.
